Frisco's new 5.7-acre adventure in community and culture, Kaleidoscope Park, is flinging open its metaphorical doors this weekend with a slate of events aimed at every taste, from early morning yoga warriors to nocturnal drone show enthusiasts, with a side dish of arts, crafts, and high-energy concerts to boot. Sponsored by Capital One, the celebration commences bright and early at 8 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, and rolls into the following day until 6 p.m., according to the City of Frisco's press release.
Shawn Jackson, the Executive Director of Kaleidoscope Park, is not shy about hyping the fruits of his team's labor, noting, "This Grand Opening celebration is the culmination of years of work, not only by the Kaleidoscope Park team, but by our partners at HALL Park, the City of Frisco and Communities Foundation of Texas," Jackson offered a nod to the park's foundational support and hinted at its long-term plans, as per the City of Frisco. "We want Kaleidoscope Park to be a destination for North Texas and beyond for now and for generations to come," as cited by the City of Frisco.
Day one leaps into action not only with the aforementioned yoga led by local club Hunni Duoe, but also a farmhouse of activities dotted throughout the morning: a petting zoo, face painters, and the Plano Symphony dispatching youthful curiosity with an instrument petting zoo from 9 a.m. to noon; not to forget Sci-Tech Discovery Center's science demo, sure to be a bubble-bursting delight. The weekend's flavor continues, with a diverse musical agenda featuring strings, orchestras, a dash of theater, and even the Lone Star Circus, ensuring the event's tempo oscillates between serene and spectacular.
