An employee of IDEA Public Schools in Kyle, Texas, has reportedly been taken into custody on the school's premises after encountering law enforcement over a suspicious substance located near the school's teacher parking lot. The arrested individual has been identified as Ernesto Torres, whose confrontation with the Kyle Police Department led to charges of resisting arrest, according to CBS Austin.
The situation unfolded when IDEA's campus, situated on Philomena Drive close to the I-35 Frontage Road, became the center of scrutiny due to the aforementioned substance, prompting police intervention, during this interaction, Torres allegedly became uncooperative and belligerent, resulting in his arrest, CBS Austin reports.
In an update on the case, KXAN states that IDEA Public Schools has acted accordingly, first placing Torres on administrative leave and subsequently terminating his employment. The investigation is still ongoing, said the IDEA Public Schools.
