A lieutenant from the LaGrange Police Department, Joshua Clower, has been arrested on multiple charges including the exploitation of an elderly person. At 43 years of age, Clower faces serious allegations for reportedly taking advantage of an individual over the age of 65, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation took Clower into custody on Saturday, with accusations that he had appropriated more than $7,000 from an elderly citizen’s checking account to subsequently use for personal expenses. The GBI was initially called in by the LaGrange Police Department in June to begin to outright investigate these allegations, as cited by WRBL.

Following the arrest, Clower was booked into the Troup County Jail. The charges he faces include theft by taking, theft by conversion, and exploitation of an elderly person. The GBI's ongoing investigation will continue independently, with the aforementioned charges ultimately destined to be handed over to the Coweta Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office for prosecution upon its completion.

The call for public assistance is ongoing, with the GBI urging anyone with further information about the case to come forward. They can reach out to the GBI regional investigative office in Columbus by calling 706-565-7888. Tips can also be submitted anonymously by calling 1-800-597-TIPS (8477), or online through the GBI's website, according to a release by the GBI.
