
A fatal motorcycle accident claimed the life of a Lakeview man in Isabella County over the weekend. As reported by WWJ Newsradio, the Isabella County Sheriff's Office received a call last Saturday around 4:48 p.m., dispatching deputies to a crash site at the intersection of Coleman and Wyman roads in Coldwater Township, approximately 40 miles from Battle Creek.
The 49-year-old man was reportedly operating a 2013 Victory motorcycle when he encountered a "wobble" which caused him to lose control, as per UpNorthLive. Witnesses at the scene described the incident to authorities, as detailed in the statement from the sheriff's office. Despite immediate treatment on the scene and subsequent airlift to a trauma center in Grand Rapids, the man succumbed to his injuries, including severe head trauma. His identity has not been released as of now.
Collaborating in the emergency response, Isabella County Central Dispatch, Mobile Medical Response, Nottawa Sherman Township Fire Department, and Aero Med Airship assisted, as noted by WWJ Newsradio. The man was flown to Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, where he was declared deceased.
Isabella County Sheriff Michael Main, as per UpNorthLive, did not indicate that factors such as speeding, alcohol, or drug use contributed to the crash. The investigation into what precipitated the accident is ongoing.
