The Lakeway Police Department is currently seeking public assistance in apprehending a man suspected of involvement in a recent robbery and aggravated assault. According to reports from CBS Austin, the incident occurred early on Friday morning in a parking lot located at the 1500 block of Lohmans Crossing Rd. near Lakeway Boulevard.
Details provided by the police describe the suspect entering an unlocked and unoccupied vehicle around 7:30 a.m., at which time, the vehicle’s owner confronted the suspect engaged in rifling through the vehicle during the confrontation, the suspect then hastily returned to his vehicle while fleeing the scene struck the owner, however, it has been reported by the police that the victim did not sustain serious injuries. The police are actively searching for a white Volkswagen midsize SUV, potentially a Tiguan, which the suspect used to escape.
The suspect has been described by FOX 7 Austin as a Black male believed to be between the ages of 25 and 30, standing at approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall with a slender build; he has long black hair and a black scruffy beard. He was last reported to be wearing a gray hoodie with black pants.
