The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in the case of Reba, an English Bulldog who met a tragic end in July. The department has released new surveillance footage that shows a man and a woman with a white four-door sedan, deemed persons of interest in the incident where Reba was discovered inside a plastic tote, left in severe heat, according to 8 News Now.
The released video, according to a statement by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and reported by News 3 LV, captures a male and female suspect parking and abandoning a black closed container where rescue authorities later found Reba. The outcry from the community and the heartfelt rallying of the 'Justice for Reba' movement have urged Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to escalate their appeals to citizens for help in bringing these suspects to justice.
Channel 13, having obtained the surveillance video, also offers a closer look at the man and woman in question as they park their vehicle, place something on the ground near the vehicle, and return to their car, as per KTNV. The avenue for public reporting is open via the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Animal Cruelty Detail or through Crime Stoppers, emphasizing the department's reliance on community engagement to solve this case.
While describing the community's reaction to the surveillance footage, Vegas Pet Rescue Project volunteer Lindsey Pinapfel expressed a mix of emotions: "We have mixed emotions. It's a little hard that this video hasn't come out sooner and I know it's later, but at the end of the day there are two people in this video and it gives us hope that the community can take this and run with it and help metro where they can get more eyes and potentially get more leads in this investigation." This sentiment resonates among activists who continue to seek answers and accountability, as per News 3 LV.
Sgt. William Gethoefer from LVMPD's Animal Cruelty Detail has highlighted the lack of leads in the investigation. Authorities hope the release of the video will encourage the community to stay alert and help catch those responsible for Reba’s death. If you have any information, you can contact the LVMPD Animal Cruelty Detail at 702-828-3364 or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
