A Livingston County man, who has chosen to remain anonymous, has defied the odds by winning a $100,000 prize from the Michigan Lottery for the second time since 2022. This repeat stroke of luck occurred through the Michigan Lottery’s second-chance game, $300,000,000 Extraordinaire. ClickOnDetroit reports that the player, aged 63, was randomly selected in a drawing on October 1 after scanning non-winning tickets on the lottery's app.
“I won a $100,000 prize playing the $300,000,000 Diamond Riches second chance game back in 2022, so when I saw the email that I had won $100,0000 playing the $300,000,000 Extraordinaire second chance game, I couldn’t believe it happened again,” the winner told MLive. “Winning means my retirement fund just got bigger which will allow me to spend more time enjoying life." He intends to save the windfall for his retirement.
The remarkable event draws attention to the various avenues players have to win large sums outside of the traditional lottery drawing, including submitting non-winning tickets for additional chances. MI Lottery Connect notes that each non-winning $300,000,000 Extraordinaire ticket is still eligible for future second-chance drawings, each offering two $100,000 prizes.
