The Los Angeles food scene is about to get bolder with the opening of the first-ever Doritos-themed restaurant. The Doritos After Dark™ restaurant, announced by Frito-Lay, made its spicy debut at the Crypto.com Arena, much to the delight of ticketed event-goers. The concept, catering to fans of the iconic chip brand, promises to elevate late-night munchies with a Doritos-infused menu spanning from appetizers to desserts.
Tapping into the creativity that fans have come to associate with the brand, the menu at Doritos After Dark is a daring twist on global flavors and late-night staples. "The globally inspired flavors of the Doritos After Dark menu will invite late-night food fans to see the creative and surprising ways Doritos can enhance their favorite meals and cocktails," Carolyn Braff, vice president of culinary marketing at Frito-Lay, told Frito-Lay's official press release.
This electrifying dining experience is, however, exclusive to those holding tickets to events at Crypto.com Arena, with the exception of a one-time pop-up event. On November 15, ahead of Sabrina Carpenter’s concert, the Doritos After Dark will open its neon doors to all at a Doritos Night Market, according to KTLA. This free event, set to take place at Peacock Place in downtown Los Angeles, aims to bring the bold Crunch of Doritos to the broader public.
The menu includes such innovations as the "Doritos® Flamin' Hot® Limón Late Night™ Rita," complete with a Doritos Flamin' Hot Limón rim, and the indomitable "Doritos® Spicy Sweet Chili Ramen-Rito," a melding of ramen and burrito with a kick of Doritos Spicy Sweet Chili flavor. Chef Wiley Bates, culinary senior principal scientist at Frito-Lay, expressed the brand's push for culinary innovation. "The food and alcoholic beverages offered at the new Doritos After Dark restaurant were created with the consumer in mind and take delicious fan favorites up a notch with the boldness and flair only Doritos flavors can deliver," he told KTLA.
The concept isn't entirely new, having made its mark with Doritos After Dark pop-up ghost kitchens in various U.S. cities last year and a notable appearance at SXSW in 2023. Doritos continues this tradition of bold moves by blending their signature crunch with an array of flavors to craft a diverse and adventurous menu, now accessible at one of LA's hotspots for sports and entertainment.
