A destructive house fire in Walworth County has sparked an investigation after breaking out Saturday evening on Highway 11 near State Road 120 in the town of Lyons. The fire, which destroyed the residence, is now being treated as more than just a tragedy by local authorities, according to a report by WISN. It is currently being investigated as a crime scene, although specifics on what led to this decision have not been made public.
On the night of the blaze, neighbors were cast into chaos, with the fire response so significant that, a portion of Highway 11 was blocked all the way down to the intersection of State Road 120 for hours. This detail arose in an interview with neighbor Addison Howe by FOX6, where they expressed their concern, saying, "I was really worried because a lot of people were panicking," further adding, "Very sad."
A key aspect of the story is the reported loss of two individuals in the fire, a mother and her son, as stated by a man who identified himself as the property owner in a conversation with FOX6. However, such information has yet to be formally confirmed by officials with the Lyons Fire Department or the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office.
