After a harrowing span of nearly two months, the Lakewood Police Department has confirmed that Madison Rich, aged 17 when she vanished but now 18, has been found and is in good health. FOX8 reports that Rich, missing since August 15, was believed to have been at the Express Inn on Northfield Road in Warrensville Heights on August 18, and ping to her phone on August 22 placed her near the 19000 block of South Miles Road before her phone was turned off.
In developments leading to her return, Madison contacted a friend for pickup, the details of which were shared with law enforcement; she was discovered in a parking lot and reunited with her family on October 13th, Lakewood Police told News 5 Cleveland, marking an end to an extensive and desperate search by her family and local authorities who'd been looking for her since her disappearance, with the Rich family now requesting privacy during this time.
Madison's absence was deeply felt by her family, especially her mother, Tracey Rich, who commemorated her daughter's 18th birthday on Friday in her absence; despite the void, Tracey maintained hope, saying, "Maddie, mommy loves you. I am never going to stop looking for you. You know how I am. You know I am never going to stop looking," as recounted in Cleveland 19's coverage.
