A violent episode at a Houston game room has led to aggravated robbery charges for a 24-year-old man. Nathaniel Roberson, identified as one of the culprits in a May 3 robbery, faces two counts in the 183rd State District Court. Roberson was already behind bars for an unrelated crime when the latest charges were filed against him.
The incident unfolded at a gaming establishment on the 12300 block of Fondren where assailants reportedly overpowered an on-site armed security guard, taking her weapon. According to Houston Police Robbery Division, the attackers then summoned a third accomplice from a waiting Chevy Malibu and proceeded to assault a pregnant employee, striking her head and, after realizing her condition, kicking her several times in the stomach.
Following the assault, the suspects ransacked the back offices and fled with a large sum of money, joining a fourth individual who piloted the getaway vehicle. The narrative of events was pieced together from accounts shared with Houston Police, who began an investigation aided by tips from the public relayed through Crime-Stoppers.
Detective work subsequently pinned Nathaniel Roberson as an implicated party in the violent robbery. Previously, Roberson had been apprehended for an unrelated robbery at a drug store on Westheimer Road. "Nathaniel Roberson was then charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, which were filed on September 5," per details from an official statement by the Houston Police Department.
The case continues to develop as investigations into the remaining suspects and the full details of the crime are ongoing. As for the victims, updates regarding their condition have not been made public.
