A carjacking incident took place in Soulard last Saturday night as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. According to a statement by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, a 44-year-old man was driving his 2019 Chevy Cruz when he turned onto 10th Street from Marion and was abruptly cut off by an individual who appeared in front of his vehicle.
The abrupt unfolding of events led the driver to a halt when a second suspect approached his car, adding dimension to an already tense scenario, the ordeal escalated quickly as one of the suspects pointed a gun at him and demanded that he exit the Chevrolet, demonstrating the kind of bold lawlessness that residents have become all too familiar with. "The victim complied and then the suspect entered the victim's car and drove away while the second suspect stood nearby," reads the incident account from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The car's owner then confronted the second individual; it was then that the latter suspect revealed a firearm and pointed it directly at the 44-year-old before fleeing the location on foot.
Fortuitously, the encounter did not result in physical harm to the victim, a silver lining in an otherwise grim narrative. The police are seeking assistance from the public and urge anyone with information about this carjacking incident to come forward.
