Tempers flared on a basketball court in the 6900 block of Lonesome Woods Trail, leading to a serious confrontation and subsequent arrest. On Saturday, Constable Mark Herman's deputies were dispatched to the scene following reports of an aggravated assault. A male suspect, later identified as Benjamin Walls, had approached a group of juveniles to participate in their basketball game. After being declined, the situation escalated as the suspect brandished a handgun and proceeded to threaten the minors and their guardians, according to the Constable's Facebook post.
The situation did not result in physical harm but exposed the juveniles to terrifying threats. Deputies located Walls at his residence where he was apprehended without further incident. Constable Mark Herman detailed in a Facebook post the arrest, stating, "Benjamin Walls was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. His total bond was set at $80,000.00 out of the 482nd District Court."
