A man now faces multiple charges after deputies intercepted his attempt to evade a routine traffic stop yesterday on Jones Rd. Deputies had attempted to pull over the driver, later identified as Anthony DeLosSantos. Refusing to yield, DeLosSantos led the authorities on a chase that eventually came to an end when officers managed to safely stop the vehicle. Reports from Constable Herman's Facebook page indicate that signs of intoxication from DeLosSantos were evident, prompting deputies to carry out field sobriety tests that confirmed their suspicions.
The sequence of events following the pursuit led to not only the confirmation of DeLosSantos’s intoxication but also revealed a more alarming discovery: a loaded firearm and 6.8 grams of Xanax were found during a subsequent search of the vehicle.
"Anthony DeLosSantos was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Fleeing Police, Driving While Intoxicated, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Carry of Weapon. His total bond was set at $400.00 out of County Court," stated Constable Mark Herman in a Facebook post.
