Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a disturbing incident that occurred early Monday morning in Diamond Bar, where a man was found dead inside a crashed vehicle with gunshot wounds. According to a report from CBS News Los Angeles, the car was found crashed against a wall on the side of the road at Brea Canyon and Pathfinder roads, with the driver pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has been identified as a 36-year-old man from Apple Valley. Officials believe the shooting occurred at a nearby park-and-ride parking lot, just off the 57 Freeway on Pathfinder Road. It is believed, that in an attempt to escape, the driver made it onto the overpass but ultimately lost control and crashed. FOX LA reports that the time of the incident was around 6:20 a.m.
Authorities are focusing their search on a suspect who reportedly fled the scene of the shooting in a white SUV. The description of the suspect is limited at this time, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is urging anyone with information to come forward.
