Yesterday morning on Detroit's east side, a fatal three-car crash claimed the life of a man. According to The Detroit News, the collision occurred around 2:30 a.m. near Hoover and Greiner streets and involved a green Jaguar, which was struck by a Chevy Impala. The impact caused the Jaguar to collide with another vehicle, ultimately resulting in the death of the Jaguar's driver.
The sequence of events, as described by Cpl. Dan Donakowski to The Detroit News, indicates that after hitting the Jaguar, the Chevy Impala's driver fled the site of the accident. The unidentified person left behind a scene of destruction, and first responders had to take care of the critically injured man from the Jaguar to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Further details provided by FOX 2 Detroit mention that no other injuries were reported in connection with the crash. The third vehicle's occupant, escaping physical harm, saw the Jaguar after it was hit by the Chevy Impala and its subsequent collision with another car before the driver responsible for this chain of events escaped.
As police investigations continue, officials are calling for the public's assistance in locating the driver of the Chevy Impala. Despite the lack of immediate leads, local law enforcement remains committed to seeking justice for the victim whose name, as noted by audacy, has not been released.
