A 31-year-old man fell victim to a violent robbery last night in the Lindenwood Park area, authorities reported. The incident unfolded in the rear parking lot of the El Paisano restaurant located at the 3300 block of Watson Road, around 5:40 p.m. yesterday.
The victim, whose identity was not released, was ostensibly getting an item from his car when he was accosted by four males. According to a statement obtained by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the suspects were described as wearing all black clothing and masks. They reportedly struck the man on the head with a firearm and forcefully demanded his belongings. To quickly escape further harm, the man surrendered his property to the assailants.
Following the confrontation, the group of suspects made their getaway in a red Dodge Durango, fleeing the scene with the man's possessions. The vehicle and the suspects remain at large as the police continue to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the robbery.
The victim, who managed to avoid serious injury, declined any medical attention post-incident. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's District 2 officials are actively to gather more information and have urged anyone with insights into the case to come forward. As it stands, the nature of the stolen property has not been disclosed, nor the estimated value of the items taken. The investigation into this brazen act of daylight robbery is ongoing.
