On a sunny Friday afternoon, the peace of Castaic was shattered by the sound of gunfire in an incident that sent one man to the hospital with injuries. The confrontation between an armed individual and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies unfolded just past noon near the intersection of Sloan Canyon Road and Parker Road, as confirmed by FOX LA. Authorities were initially called to the scene over reports of an alleged domestic issue involving a man and a woman.
The altercation escalated when the man accused of being armed with a gun, was shot during the encounter with sheriff's deputies, CBS News Los Angeles reports. Following the incident, aerial footage indicated the presence of a gun lying on the street outside a white sedan, aligning visually with the narrative of the armed confrontation.
While the man's identity remains undisclosed, he was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries according to officials. The quick response from law enforcement ensured that the woman involved was not injured, and no deputies sustained injuries during the altercation.
