Tragedy struck Manor Senior High School on Tuesday when one student died as the result of a stabbing incident. According to KXAN, the call came to Austin-Travis County EMS around 12:45 p.m., leading to medics rushing to the scene. Despite their life-saving attempts, "the student was pronounced dead on the scene."
Officials have placed another student in custody concerning this incident, as disclosed in a statement from Manor ISD. Following this violent event, Manor Senior High School was closed early on Tuesday, and classes were subsequently canceled for Wednesday at both Manor Senior and Manor Early College High School, as per KXAN. The district explained that the stabbing unfolded after an altercation occurred between the two students.
"The suspect of the stabbing is in police custody." A lockdown was enforced at Manor Senior High School immediately following the stabbing, as detailed by FOX 7 Austin. The investigation, conducted jointly by Manor PD and Manor ISD PD, is ongoing at this stage.
