Marilyn Marvin has been officially named Director of the Property Management Department in Fort Worth, stepping up from her prior role within the same department. With over a decade at the City of Fort Worth, her path has to firmly navigate through various sectors, garnering experience from both public and private arenas in management and systems operations. Her background stands solid in finance and IT, which is foundational to the work she will be diving into further in her new position.
As reported by the City of Fort Worth's official website, Assistant City Manager Dana Burghdoff stated, "Marilyn is passionate about continuous improvement and teambuilding and will be focusing on capital delivery, asset management and customer engagement." Burghdoff emphasized the varied experiences Marvin brings to the table, which enable her to provide "valuable insight for various projects the City is working on."
Among her slew of interim and leadership roles, Marvin has held positions such as the interim library director, assistant library director of systemwide services, and senior manager in Information Technology for the City. These positions have allowed her to accrue a broad understanding of the City's operations which she is expected to leverage in her new role.
The new directory responsibility will not be a light one; Marvin is set to lead a department that encompasses essential city services including Facilities Management, Fleet Services, General Services, and Real Estate. With her bachelor's degree from Evangel University and her extensive track record within the City's framework, she aims to swiftly address the growing demands of asset management and community engagement within Fort Worth’s urban landscape.
