In a recent bust by the Los Angeles Police Department, more than 50 pounds of powdered fentanyl and nearly 9 pounds of black tar heroin were seized from a South Los Angeles location. The discovery occurred on October 16 and has led to the arrest of Jose Alberto Soto, a 28-year-old Los Angeles resident, on suspicion of selling fentanyl, according to a news release from the LAPD.

The narcotics investigation that unfolded near downtown LA was a joint effort, including the LAPD's Central Area Narcotics Enforcement Detail (NED) and Rampart Area Narcotics Enforcement Detail, along with the Central Area Gang Impact Team (GIT). Soto's arrest, whose booking number is 6902357, was for the charge of Sales of Fentanyl (11351 H&S), as per a news release obtained by LAPD News. The subsequent search warrant in the 7500 block of Central Avenue led to the substantial narcotics seizure along with $14,500 in cash.
