Lallo, who has a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Southern Oregon University and is a Certified Fundraising Executive, brings a wealth of experience from her time running a private consulting business that specialized in various executive and organizational training services that include but not limited to transitional management, strategic planning, and fundraising advancement she's also known for her contributions to executive management with her expertise in team building, systems management, event planning and corporate communications. Former Chief of Staff Leo Caires will transition into a new role as the Mayor’s Energy Commissioner, with the tough task of bolstering short- and long-term strategies for Maui County's renewable energy development, energy efficiency improvements, and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions; it's a critical step for the tri-isle county that looks to its leaders for sustainable and resilient practices.
"I would like to thank Cynthia for assuming this leadership role, and mahalo, Leo, for taking on crucial tasks as our new Energy Commissioner," Mayor Bissen stated on the County of Maui's official website. He emphasized the importance of this restructuring, noting that he will be "leaning on Leo to lead us toward harnessing our energy resources wisely," and that these changes are made with a keen eye toward the future benefits for the county's residents.
