
Memphis Police are currently investigating two separate shootings that occurred earlier today along Summer Avenue in the Berclair area. The first incident took place at the Summerwood Apartments at 4000 Summer Avenue, near North Graham Street. Officers responded to the scene shortly before 4 a.m. after being dispatched following reports of gunfire just after 3:30 a.m., according to FOX13.
While details remain scarce, it has been reported by WREG that at least one person was injured in the shooting at Summerwood Apartments and has been taken to the hospital. The condition of the wounded individual is not yet clear.
A second shooting occurred approximately at the intersection of Summer Avenue and Hudson Street. Police arrived at this second scene minutes after responding to the first, as stated by Action News 5. The connection, if any, between the two shootings has not been established by authorities.
Following the incidents, Summer Avenue was temporarily closed between Hudson Street and North Highland Street but has since been reopened. The Memphis Police Department has not yet released information on suspects or motives behind either shooting. The investigations are ongoing as the community awaits further updates.
