Falcon Field Airport will host its first Haunted Hangar event on Saturday. Families are invited to explore the historical World War II hangar from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., where vintage aircraft will be on display alongside Halloween decorations, according to an announcement from the City of Mesa.
The Haunted Hangar event combines Halloween activities with a historical experience. Falcon Field, established in 1941 as a British training base, will open its doors for guests to explore its grounds. Attendees can collect treats from local organizations such as Mesa Public Library, Mesa Fire Department, and Crumble Cookie. Costumes are encouraged to add to the festive spirit.
The Haunted Hangar provides family-friendly activities and an opportunity for parents and children to learn about the airport's historical significance. The event aims to connect the community while sharing information about its past.
Local groups, such as Mesa Solid Waste, the Wings of Flight Foundation, and Chick-fil-A at Power and McKellips, will distribute treats to costumed children. This event focuses on building connections among residents of all ages.
