Seeking assistance from the community, the Metro Nashville Police Department has reached out to the public for help in identifying a driver connected to a September road rage shooting. An image of the suspect's vehicle, a silver Ford Expedition, model years 1997 to 2002, has been circulated with hopes that someone will recognize it. According to WSMV, the incident occurred on September 21 in the 300 block of Harding Place, injuring a 23-year-old male driver.
Witness descriptions paint a picture of the suspect as a heavy-set white man in his 30s with distinctive facial markings, including a beard and a teardrop tattoo on the left side of his face. While driving the vehicle, described by some as a suspect, fled the scene heading towards Interstate 24 after the shooting. FOX 17 highlighted that the tattooed driver is believed to be bald as well.
The victim of the shooting was quickly transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and was reported to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The MNPD has not released any further information on the victim's current condition. The authorities are urging anyone who might have valuable information about the Expedition or the individual responsible to come forward. "Anyone with information on the Expedition or the driver responsible is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463," MNPD stated, as reported by WKRN.
With the shooter still at large and the identification of the vehicle and driver still unresolved, the MNPD continues their appeal to the public for actionable intelligence that could aid in their investigation. Sent out a statement on Monday, MNPD detectives asked help in the search for the car, urging anyone with any relevant information to step forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
