
The Metropolitan Police Department has put out an alert seeking help to find a suspect linked to a burglary at a daycare in the Southeast quadrant of the city. According to the official report, the crime occurred on Friday, around half past ten, at a daycare situated on the 1100 block of Varney Street, Southeast. Police say the individual in question gained entry by force. After stealing undisclosed items, the suspect made their escape, merging back into the fabric of the District's night.
As of now, the police are urging anyone with information that could shed light on this suspect's identity, or provide details about the event, to come forward. However, individuals with such knowledge are advised to not engage but to reach out to authorities. Witnesses can contact the police at (202) 727-9099, or submit tips anonymously through the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
The Metropolitan Police Department is also offering a monetary incentive. A reward of up to $1,000 stands for information that paves the way to the arrest, and the indictment of the person or persons caught up in the criminal act, according to a statement from MPD.
