A Miami local has scratched off a $1 million prize from the Florida Lottery's $1,000,000 A Year for Life Spectacular game. Nasser Delgado, a 40-year-old resident of Miami, secured the hefty sum and opted for a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000. Local10 reported the winner's chosen payout method earlier this week.
According to the Florida Lottery announcement, Delgado's winning ticket was purchased at Kendale Service Center, Inc., which is situated at 13700 Southwest 56th Street in the heart of Miami. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for their role in selling the winning scratch-off ticket, as noted in the release obtained by WSVN.
The $50 scratch-off game, $1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacular, set off an exciting buzz when it launched back in February. The lottery boasts two top prizes of $1 million a year for life, alongside 234 prizes of $1 million to keep players on the edge.
The game is also a tableau of potential wealth, with over $1.6 billion in cash prizes in the mix. For the hopefuls, the odds are touted to be 1-in-4.50—a statistic aimed to entice and engage anyone who has a chance of the millionaire status just like Delgado.
