
A 3-year-old boy has died following a shooting in Minneapolis, prompting a full-scale investigation by local authorities, confirmed Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara. The incident, which occurred on the 2300 block of Jefferson St NE, drew a swift response from the Second Precinct Officers upon receiving a 911 call around 12:45 p.m., yesterday, as reported by the City of Minneapolis.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered the boy inside an apartment and provided first aid alongside firefighters and EMS the boy then was rushed to Hennepin Healthcare Hospital, where despite exhaustive lifesaving attempts, he succumbed to his injuries, as detailed by the City of Minneapolis. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner is expected to release further details concerning the young child's identity, as well as the cause and manner of his death.
Expressions of sorrow poured forth from Chief O'Hara, acknowledging the immense grief suffered by the victim's family and the collective distress faced by emergency responders. "My thoughts are with the family of this little boy; they have experienced an unimaginable tragedy," O'Hara said, as stated by the City of Minneapolis.
