Minneapolis residents have the opportunity to influence the future landscape of their city as the New Nicollet redevelopment project enters a critical phase of community engagement. According to a city statement, the City is set to begin construction on Nicollet Avenue between Lake Street and Cecil Newman Lane in 2025, with ambitions to transform the surrounding area into a bustling, high-density neighborhood that prioritizes walkability and mixed-use spaces.
Voicing community concerns and aspirations is now more possible than ever, as the city launches Phase III of its public engagement strategy. They intend to quickly gather feedback through an online survey to ensure that redevelopment mirrors the community's priorities for the future use of the property.
The survey, available in English, Spanish, and Somali, is open until 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, inviting the citizens to strongly articulate their visions.
