Residents of Minneapolis's East Harriet area can breathe a little easier now that CenterPoint Energy's major infrastructure upgrade, which involves the installation of a new, more durable gas main, is completed. As of Oct. 28, the Michels Corporation crew, authorized by CenterPoint Energy, has packed up their gear, moving out after replacing aging pipes with ones designed to resist corrosion and leaks. This marks a significant milestone toward ensuring the community receives the type of uninterrupted and safe energy service it relies upon.
While the main installation might be done, the work is not over. Service crews are dedicatedly progressing north on Aldrich Avenue S, following the completion of services between 41st Street W., and 40th Street W. These ongoing efforts will focus on tasks such as relocating indoor meters to the exterior of homes—a procedure requiring homeowners to schedule an appointment—and connecting the properties to the new system, as per CenterPoint Energy.
Property restoration, a vital phase of any construction project, won't be too far behind the service work. Contracted restorers from Q3, under CenterPoint Energy's mandate, will embark on their task a few weeks subsequent to the service crew's completion. Eager residents curious about what restoration involves can find details on the company's dedicated Restoration Practices webpage, which provides insights into how the company intends to return lawns, roads, sidewalks, and boulevards back to their pre-construction state.
With questions still lingering or if details are needed, CenterPoint Energy encourages community inquiries. Customers and residents can get in touch by calling the Communication Specialist at 612-542-6198 or by sending an email to [email protected].
