Residents of Minnetonka will soon see the end of CenterPoint Energy's service work in their neighborhood. The essential maintenance of the city's natural gas infrastructure, which has been underway for the last few weeks, is expected to be complete by the start of next week, specifically the week of October 28. Crews have been relocating inside meters to the exterior of properties and connecting service lines from homes to the main lines along several local roads.
The work has taken place on Willowood Drive from Woodland Road to Whited Avenue, Wyngate Lane extending to 601 Wyngate Lane, the intersection of Fairwood Lane and Fairwood Drive at Willowood Drive, Valewood Drive up to 6017 Valewood Drive, part of Whited Avenue, and Lake Rose Circle at Lake Rose Lane. Following the completion of this phase, temporary restoration will be initiated with crews clearing any remaining construction materials and cleaning up the site, according to a statement obtained by CenterPoint Energy.
Permanent restorations, to be handled by Q3, a contractor authorized by CenterPoint Energy, are expected to take place a few weeks thereafter. This will include the repair of lawns, boulevards, sidewalks, and other areas impacted by the construction efforts. Meanwhile, residents who have had their daily routines disrupted by the ongoing work can look forward to a resumption of normalcy soon. The energy company expressed gratitude towards the community for their patience through the upgrade process.
