A Matthews teenager who had been reported missing earlier this week has been found safe, local authorities confirmed. Franklynn Kitchens, 16, was last seen on Sunday, in the vicinity of Brittle Creek Drive and had reportedly been in the area of Wyalong Drive that same afternoon. According to the QC News, Kitchens is a Black female, approximately 5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighing 100 pounds, with brown hair, and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a tan bodysuit with a white jacket.
The Matthews Police Department launched a search when the teen went missing. In a brief announcement, the Matthews Police Department expressed their gratitude for the community's help and support during the search effort, "the teen was found safe on Wednesday morning," according to a report by WCNC.
The community was on high alert after Franklynn went missing, with her disappearance trending on social media. Matthews Police asked the public for help in finding her, sharing her description and last known whereabouts to speed up the investigation.
The Matthews Police Department has not provided further details on the case. "A 16-year-old girl who was reported missing has been found safe," Matthews police assured the public, as mentioned in a statement obtained by WSOCTV.
