In Moreno Valley, a multi-month investigative effort by the Sheriff's Special Enforcement Team culminated on October 16 in a substantial drug seizure and an arrest. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department reported that a house on the 23200 block of Hemlock Avenue was the focal point of the warranted search, where law enforcement discovered 49 pounds of methamphetamine. The estimated street value of the narcotics is cited at $58,000.
Additionally, the search led to the finding of an assault rifle and two semi-automatic handguns, elements that underline the inherent perils of drug trade operations, as per the Sheriff's Department. The individual apprehended at the scene, identified as 55-year-old Alfredo Pimienta of Moreno Valley, faces multiple charges including possession of narcotics for sale, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Pimienta was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center. The investigation remains active, and the authorities have not released further details at this time. Those with information related to the case are invited to step forward and contact Sergeant Radford at (951) 486–6700.
