
A motorcyclist was left with serious injuries following a collision at an intersection in Spring Valley, Las Vegas. As reported by FOX5 Vegas, the incident occurred at around 4:45 p.m. last Friday at the crossroads of Sepulveda and Foothill boulevards.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stated that a 48-year-old man, operating a 2016 Zero motorcycle, was riding eastbound on Foothill Boulevard and failed to properly stop at a sign. The motorcycle then entered the intersection, proceeding to crash into the path of a PT Cruiser driven by a 56-year-old man heading northbound on Sepulveda Boulevard. The motorcyclist was subsequently transported to UMC Trauma with injuries described as "serious." Meanwhile, the driver of the PT Cruiser stayed at the scene and managed to successfully pass sobriety tests administered by authorities, as reported by FOX5 Vegas.
Further details obtained by 8 News Now revealed that the motorcycle struck the driver's side of the compact vehicle. The motorcyclist, who has been confirmed as a 47-year-old Las Vegas resident, was hospitalized with severe injuries.
The circumstances leading up to the crash are currently under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section. "This collision remains under investigation," stated the police, cited by FOX5 Vegas. Both drivers' names have not been immediately released as police continue to investigate the pivotal moments that led to this unfortunate turn of events.
