A motorcycle rider was pronounced dead following a collision with a sedan on Rainbow Canyon Road in Temecula, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. The accident, which took place on October 21, 2024, drew a response from deputies of the county's Southwest Station after being alerted to the incident at 12:07 p.m.
Upon their arrival, the deputies located the motorcycle rider on the ground, suffering from severe injuries and unresponsive. Despite life-saving efforts by the deputies and subsequent medical assistance, the rider was declared dead at the scene. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has indicated that an investigation by the Southwest Station Traffic Team is underway.
The preliminary report suggests that the sedan was moving northbound and the motorcycle southbound when the motorcycle lost control while navigating a curve, veering into opposing traffic and coming into contact with the front of the sedan.
