A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with another vehicle on Monday morning in Buda, creating a significant traffic disruption on West Goforth. CBS Austin reports that the incident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. and resulted in the motorcyclist being transported to a hospital with substantial injuries.
The specifics of the accident remain unclear, but a disruption of this nature was bound to compel detours and delays, effectively commanding those traveling in the vicinity to seek alternate routes. The Buda Police Department confirmed the closure of West Goforth between Pinafore and Loma Verde to thoroughly conduct an investigation, an endeavor which temporarily redefined the morning commute for many. According to a Facebook post by the Buda Police Department, the street was shut down "for an unknown period while accident investigation is conducted."
The collision involved not just the motorcycle but another vehicle, the status of whose occupants has not been disclosed. It is often the case in such incidents that the most vulnerable parties bear the brunt of the consequences. Reopening the street at 9:57 a.m., the police were able to conclude their immediate on-scene examination and allow traffic to resume its normal flow. The department shared an update on social media stating, "West Goforth has reopened and the roadway is clear."
