The Metropolitan Police Department has taken to their website to share the details of the incident and to appeal to anyone with information to step forward. These details explicitly instruct community members to not approach the suspect; instead, they should promptly call the police at (202) 727-9099 or send a tip via text to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
