
The search is on for a robbery suspect in Northeast, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. In an incident occurring on the evening of Tuesday, October 22, the authorities were called to the 1600 block of Benning Road around 8:00 p.m. on reports of a robbery. A man reported that a suspect demanded his property, and when he refused, the suspect flashed a weapon, seized his belongings, and then took off, as detailed by MPD's press release. Fortunately, the victim did not sustain injuries during the event.
Captured by nearby surveillance, the police have released images of the suspect. Those photos can now be viewed online. The Metropolitan Police Department urges that if the public can identify the suspect or have any information related to the robbery, they should not approach but instead contact the authorities at (202) 727-9099. Alternatively, they can send a text to the TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. A reward of up to $1,000 stands for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the responsible individual or individuals, as stated in the released images by MPD's press release.
