
The Metropolitan Police Department is on the lookout for a suspect involved in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon incident that took place at the 1200 block of New York Avenue, Northwest. This incident left property damaged and employees fearing for their safety.
On the evening of Monday, October 7, around 8:00 p.m., officers from the Second District received a call regarding property damage. Arriving at the scene, officers discovered property destruction and received reports of the suspect attempting to hit the staff with a metal pipe. The event shaken up the local community, accustomed to the relative security of the area.
For those in possession of information about the suspect or the incident, MPD has urged for community cooperation. However, citizens have been advised not to approach the suspect, but rather to contact police at (202) 727-9099 or to utilize the Department's TEXT TIP LINE by texting tips to 50411.
The search for the suspect is continuing, and MPD is offering a reward of up to $10,000, as outlined on their official website, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those behind the violent crime.
