
An SUV collided with a tractor pulling a hayride last night in Trowbridge Township, resulting in multiple injuries. According to WOODTV, the accident occurred around 7:25 p.m. on M-40 near 110th Avenue. The at-scene aftermath revealed a hayride trailer tipped on its side with clear damage and an SUV with significant front-end destruction.
The Allegan County Sheriff's Office officials indicated that the SUV and the tractor were heading south when the crash happened. Through a preliminary investigation, it was believed that speed and alcohol played a role in the incident. "Several" people from the hayride and all three SUV occupants were transported to the hospital to receive medical attention for injuries sustained in the serious injury crash, according to the information provided by WZZM13.
The exact number of injured individuals has not been released, nor have their conditions been disclosed. The Allegan City Police Department, Pine Grove Fire Department, LIFE EMS, the Michigan Department of Transportation, and Plainwell EMS were among the agencies responding to the scene to aid with the incident. Following the crash, the road was closed on M-40 to accommodate the emergency response and investigation efforts.
