Nashvillians looking to access the services of the Register of Deeds will have to pause their plans early next week. The Nashville Davidson County Register of Deeds Office is bracing for a temporary shutdown. The closure, taking effect from October 28 to October 29, is due to the installation of critical infrastructure for the new office building.
The ongoing construction work, which aims to deliver a contemporary facility by mid-November, has reached a juncture where it is essential to install a heating system and electrical work within the existing structure, according to a statement obtained by Nashville.gov. Register of Deeds Karen Johnson emphasized the decision, noting, "Our priority is to ensure customer safety as we work closely with the construction team to get the new office up and running as efficiently as possible."
Concerned individuals should note that the office will stick to its regular office hours, resuming on October 30, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. As the community anticipates the new facility's enhancements, patience is requested during this short interval of inconvenience. The new construction is touted to bolster the functionality and reliability of the services offered.
Alternatives are scarce for residents requiring services during this brief shutdown period, but planning ahead could alleviate potential stress. "The office will reopen during our regular business hours on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.," Johnson assured the public. Office patrons are encouraged to redirect their schedules and utilize the full services once the office resumes its operations after installation.
