The Coppell Police Department has a new face in its ranks, Officer Therese Mylett, who was recently sworn in by Chief Barton. The proud moment for the department and Mylett's family was commemorated with her retired police officer father, who served 30 years on the force, pinning the badge to her uniform. This symbol of generational continuity was shared with the community in an official Facebook post by the Coppell Police Department.
Mylett, originally hailing from Corpus Christi, comes to the department with a distinct background. Besides her recent graduation from Tarrant County College, she also holds a nursing degree from Del Mar College. Her commitment to public service was clear, even as she pursued athletic excellence, having played soccer to the extent of attracting attention from the Houston Dynamo. Not ready to leave Corpus, she ultimately declined the opportunity with the soccer team.
The local community and the police department both seem eager to see the contributions Officer Mylett will make. "We are proud to have Mylett on board and can't wait to see the great things she does in the Coppell community," the Coppell Police Department stated. Her academic and athletic achievements suggest a person well-prepared to take on the challenges of law enforcement with compassion and dedication.
