
The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that took place in Northwest D.C. last week. The incident unfolded last Wednesday, October 2, when, at approximately 7:25 p.m., police officers were dispatched to the 700 block of N Street, Northwest after reports of gunshots were received.
Upon their arrival, authorities found 43-year-old Tiara Thompson, who was at that time conscious and suffering from gunshot wounds. Thompson was swiftly transported by DC Fire and EMS to a local hospital to receive urgent care. Unfortunately, after battling her injuries for several days, Thompson ultimately succumbed to them on Saturday, October 5.
The death of Tiara Thompson is now being actively investigated as a homicide by the MPD. Details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting remain sparse, and law enforcement is reaching out to the community for assistance. A reward of up to $25,000 has been offered by the MPD for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this crime. This information was confirmed by a press release from the Metropolitan Police Department.
Authorities have not released any information on potential suspects and are urging anyone who may possess knowledge pertaining to the case to come forward.
