The National Weather Service in Oklahoma City reports a fair and sunny day ahead with temperatures rising to a high near 73 degrees, and calming winds from the north. Residents can expect a drop to 54 degrees this evening under mostly clear skies. Meanwhile, the weekend is looking bright, with a high nearing 80 on Sunday, accompanied by light winds—merging into quite the warm and windy Monday with gusts possibly reaching 34 mph, as detailed by NWS.
Easing into the early week, Monday night's temps will hover around 69 degrees under partly cloudy skies, but Tuesday is shaping up to be windy and hotter still, with a high near 82 degrees. Oklahoma City's weather pattern takes a turbulent turn come Wednesday, as the chance of precipitation climbs to 60%. Showers and potentially a thunderstorm are forecast to assault the city before early afternoon, followed by the possibility of more thunderstorms afterward.
The National Weather Service has also flagged upcoming fire weather and strong wind conditions for early next week. Monday and Tuesday afternoons are poised to present elevated – near critical – fire weather conditions. "Strong south winds with gusts over 40 mph are expected both Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon," reports the National Weather Service.
As per the latest hazardous weather outlook, the severe weather potential for the Wednesday and Thursday thunderstorms currently looks low. However, Oklahomans are encouraged to stay updated with weather.gov/norman, and the weather forecast office's X and Facebook pages for the latest developments.
