Oklahomans can look forward to a stretch of pleasant weather. Today's outlook promises sunny skies with a comfortable high near 87°F, coupled with a gentle east-northeast breeze in the afternoon. Temperatures will cool down tonight to a mostly clear low of around 66°F, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Oklahoma City.
Thursday's forecast anticipates a high nearing 89°F. A moderate south wind is expected to briskly increase, possibly gusting up to a challenging 30 mph. This surge in wind could elevate fire weather conditions, especially in northern, western, and west-central areas of Oklahoma. The NWS advises always follow local burn bans and exercising caution when it's dry and windy.
Looking ahead to the weekend, the weather will remain mostly cooperative for any plans. Friday's high is predicted to be a cooler 80°F, with the wind shifting west-northwest. Saturday and Sunday continue the sunny trend, with highs of 74°F and 81°F, respectively, offering a reprieve from the workweek's heat.
"Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions are possible next Monday and Tuesday," as per the Hazardous Weather Outlook from the NWS. No thunderstorms are expected until possibly Thursday night in north-central Oklahoma.
