Tragedy struck the Spring Branch neighborhood this morning as the Houston Police Department reported a stabbing at an apartment complex that left one person dead and another injured. The incident occurred on Long Point Road near Antoine Drive around 7:30 a.m., as detailed by KHOU 11. Arriving officers found two individuals with multiple stab wounds; one was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, their condition yet unknown.
Julissa Garza, a reporter for KHOU 11, was on-site and observed that the stabbing appeared to have happened toward the back end of the complex where crime scene tape stretched across the perimeter and blood stained a door. According to a neighbor interviewed by KHOU 11, the screams of a woman prompted a call to the police, the same neighbor noted that the victims might have lived in the complex for approximately six months.
As of yet, police have not released information on a suspect or a possible motive behind the stabbing. The investigation remains active and ongoing. FOX 26 Houston reported on the incident as well, reaffirming that one victim had been confirmed dead and another hospitalized following the attack.
Both local news outlets, KHOU 11 and FOX 26 Houston, are closely monitoring the situation and have pledged to provide updates as the Houston Police Department releases more details and makes progress in their search for any individuals responsible for this crime.
