
At noon today, a fire broke out at Wesley Highland Meadows, a senior living facility in Raleigh, leading to a prompt response from the Memphis Fire Department. Firefighters were called to the scene at 3494 Maclin Lane around that time, according to WREG.
During the incident, one person sustained injuries serious enough to require hospitalization. FOX13 Memphis reported that the victim, a woman, suffered cardiac arrest after being rescued by a neighbor while she was trapped by the flames. Fortunately, other residents had evacuated the building before the Memphis Fire Department arrived.
The extent of the damage to the senior living facility has not been disclosed, though the fire was successfully subdued according to a brief note by Action News 5, the nature of the blaze, how it initiated, still remains under investigation without details having been released to the public at this time.
Following the incident, the Memphis Fire Department advised local traffic to avoid the area to support emergency operations and ensure the safety of victims and responders.
