
One individual has been apprehended and two remain at large in connection with an early June shooting in Houston. The Houston Police Department reports that the incident, which left one man wounded, occurred at a convenience store parking lot on Ella Boulevard. According to a press release from the City of Houston, the shooting happened shortly after 1 a.m. on the ninth of June.
Officers assigned to the HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division, including Officers A. Garcia and N. Aponte, responded to the call of a shooting. They found that three males had been casually gathered in the lot when they were ambushed by a group of four men who appeared unexpectedly, releasing a hail of bullets towards them. The age 33 victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds, while two other males present did not sustain injuries. The assailants fled the scene without giving clue to their direction.
The subsequent investigation led to charges being filed against three suspects. The first, Carmel Jasean Bush, 20, is currently in custody and is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Bush was at Harris County Jail on unrelated charges when the charges were brought. The other two suspects, youth just on the brink of adulthood, Jviontae Jaquez Paige, 19, and Triwayne Eugene Davison, 18, have also been charged with the same crime but have so far eluded capture.
HPD's efforts to aprehend Paige and Davison are ongoing, and the public's assistance is being sought. "Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Paige or Davison is urged to contact the HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division at 713-308-8800 or speak anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS," as stated in the city's news release.
