Canine enthusiasts and pet lovers will have a ball at this year's Barktoberfest, the 11th annual event curated by Orange County Animal Services (OCAS). The celebration will take place on October 27 at Lake Eola Park, right alongside the Farmer's Market. According to Orange County, the festival promises a parade of pups up for adoption, shining a light on the tireless efforts of rescue organizations.
"Our team is brimming with excitement for this year's Barktoberfest, which is shaping up to be our largest yet," OCAS Manager Diane Summers expressed, noting the unifying spirit of their staff in honor of their rescue partners. According to the county's official press release, attendees from all walks of life can wander through the park from noon to 4 p.m., greeted by the wagging tails of dogs needing loving homes.
"Each year, our number of event attendees increases, a testament to the growing awareness of our shelter's relationship with the rescue community," Summers said, as detailed in the county's press release. Participants are encouraged to foster care interest, donate to the cause, and potentially find a new companion – immortalized in a snapshot from the free photo booth.
Those interested in attending Barktoberfest or seeking more details about what to expect can visit OCAS's website or check out the Facebook Event page.
