As the digitization of libraries continues to expand, the ways in which Oregonians obtain information are evolving. Keeping stride with these changes, the Answerland Advisory Committee (AAC) has announced a public virtual meeting scheduled for November 12 at 10:00 am, to discuss the state's virtual reference service, Answerland. The announcement, which came through the State Library of Oregon's newsroom, is an open invitation to residents who want to attend and participate in shaping the future of this service.
Interested individuals are advised to reach out to Gesse Stark-Smith at 971-600-4992 or via email at [email protected], as confirmed by the State Library of Oregon's official announcement. The AAC, which consists of members from diverse regions of Oregon representing various library sectors, plays an integral role in providing counsel to both the State Library and the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Advisory Council on matters about Answerland.
For those with hearing impairments, sign language interpretation services will be available upon request, provided that notification is given 48 hours ahead of the meeting, although 72 hours of notice is preferred. Any requests for material handouts in alternate formats should adhere to the same 72-hour advance notice guideline. Further information and assistance can be sought from Gesse Stark-Smith via the contact details provided above.
